My favorite step in my skincare routine is cleansing. As you may know, the Korean skincare routine includes double-cleansing, which means to use an oil-based cleanser first and then proceed to cleanse a second time with a water-based cleanser. However, my favorite cleansing step is the one that involves the water-based cleanser. I like to feel free of impurities and sweat, specially sweat. I personally don't use makeup at all, in fact, I don't remember the last time I wore makeup. I don't particularly enjoy cleansing with an oil-based cleanser because I live in a tropical and humid zone, and here you sweat every day of your life. Just to give you an idea of how serious the situation is, I'll like to let you know how the weather is feeling today. Note that this post was written on February, as you can see above, and all the photos I see on Instagram are photos of people playing in the snow. However, where I live it's sunny and hot, really hot outside. I walk about ten minutes yesterday with no shade whatsoever. When I finally arrived to my destination I realized I was sweating like a pig (not that I haven't notice) and was completely dehydrated. In fact, I had to stop in front of the door I was supposed to enter to catch my breath and drink water, and no I'm not overreacting. So now imagine what it is to arrive to your house all sweaty and knowing that the first step of your skincare routine is to use an oil-based cleanser, horrible I know. Some of you may ask, why do I use an oil-based cleanser if I don't wear makeup. Well, the answer is simple, oil repels oil. If I skip the oil-based cleanser and only use a water-based cleanser, all the oil and impurities won't be cleansed completely. In the end, I'll still have impurities and oil on my skin. In conclusion, always use an oil-based cleanser even if your skin is extremely oily. In addition, if I use the cleansers the right way, my skin feels refreshed and free of oil, sweat, dirt, and impurities. Here are the cleansers I use in my current skincare routine:
Which cleansers (oil and water-based) do you use in your skincare? Let me know in the comments :) Have you order something online and when you open the box you find out it's nothing like the picture? Yeah, me too. This type of things happen mostly because when we order something online, we only look at the picture, rather than reading the item description. However, somethings we read the description, but we have no idea of what we are reading. For example, the description says six inches but we have no idea what six inches mean, or it says two pounds but we no nothing about what a pound is. This could be confusing when you are buying online. Furthermore, we see two different packaging's and because one looks bigger than the other, we think the bigger one carries more product. This is a common mistake we do when it comes to buying skin care products. *Affiliated links below Let's talk about some examples, shall we? In the picture below you can see two skin care products. Both these products have a completely different packaging and for the looks of it's, one carries more product than the other. Which do you think has more product by only considering the picture? The Freeman Beautiful Avocado & Oatmeal Facial Clay Mask has 175ml of product, while the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask has 200ml. Even though the Freeman clay mask looks bigger, it actually has 25ml less product than the Innifree pore clay mask. It's amazing, I know. Let's see other products, for example the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream has 75ml of product, while the J. One Hana Cream has 40g. That's 35ml of difference! Also, the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream has a price of $15, but the J. One Hana Cream costs $50. That's something to seriously take in mind when buying a skin care product. You'll be getting less product for more than twice the price with the J. One Hana Cream. What do you think about these facts and tips? Tell me of anything new in the comments! There have been so many giveaway's on Instagram I can hardly keep up with them. In the last couple of days I have submitted more than seven entries for giveaway's in this app. Even though most of the giveaway's were program for Valentine's Day, there are still some of them running. You can check the people I'm following in my Instagram account at any time. Let me know in the comments if you were lucky! I'm new to the 10-step Korean skincare routine, however, I do my best to learn more each day and try new products whenever I have the opportunity. I have no complaints of this new skincare routine, and I’m more than satisfied with the results after only two months of using it. I have decided that for now on I will only use Korean products to take care of my skin. There’re many reasons for me to make this choice, some of them are the following: 1. Better ingredients 2. More variety 3. Lower prices 4. If unsatisfied, money back guaranteed 5. Products for all skin types 6. Better customer service 7. Free samples 8. YouTube videos explaining how to use the products 9. Useful tips for your daily skincare Some of you might be familiar with the list mentioned above, well that’s because it’s true, isn’t it? Also, the companies that sell these products care about their customer’s opinions and reviews, some of them are: 1. Memebox (memebox.com) 2. Soko Glam! (sokoglam.com) 3. Peach and Lily (peachandlily) 4. WishTrend (wishtrend) 5. Beauteque (beauteque) 6. Leaders USA (leaderscosmeticsusa) 7. Rose Rose Shop (roseroseshop) 8. Glow Recipe (glowrecipe) 9. iherb (iherb) 10. Mask Sheets (masksheets) 11. Paulas Choice (paulaschoice) 12. Amazon (amazon) 13. Jolse (jolse) 14. Cosmetic Love (cosmetic-love) *These are only the ones I know about. If you know of any others Korean skincare products sellers, please let me know in the comments :) In addition, they partner with YouTubers to let their customer’s know how to use the products they sell and even have giveaways. They provide discounts to their subscribers and answer e-mails fast. However, what I enjoy the most is how they put together boxes targeting different skincare concerns, which is great when you don’t know what to buy. Furthermore, they choose the best products from different brands for each box, meaning that they are not loyal to a single brand, only to their customers. *If you want a referral code from any of these pages just ask me! However, I want to clarify I make a small commission when someone uses a code, which I use to buy more skin care products to review to keep this blog active. |
